Dwarf Hamster Lethargy

Question
We have a female winter white dwarf hamster. We've had it 2 weeks. We got two that were originally caged together but began fighting after 4 days so they now have their own cages. Tonight one was sitting very still (like it was dying), but with bright eyes, and a rapid heart beat. It just wouldn't move. After holding it in our hands for a couple minutes it began to move its head. As minutes went by it began to move a bit more and more. Finally it resumed walking, a bit slower than normal. When we put it back in the cage it burried under the beding. Also it seems to have gained weight (more than the other). Do you have any insight on this type of behavior? Thanks.

Answer
Dear Cheri,
thank you for your question.
It might be pregnant and soon due to give birth. Otherwise, I cannot say much without having seen the hamster. If this happens more often, I can only recommend seeing a vet to rule ut any medical problems.
I'm sorry that I cannot be of more help
