scab

hi!
i have 1 hamster (short haired hamster) and i noticed on his tail there was like a little scab. it wasn't bleeding though.
what might have caused this? will he survive?

Answer
anything could have caused it, like hurting himself or falling down. He will be just fine though. If more scabs start appearing through his body than he could have mites but since it's just a little scab and there are no other symptoms then he's fine.
