Hiccuping

I read your response that suggested that sneezing can sound like hiccuping.  A few days ago our hamster starting making hiccuping sounds when awake (pretty consistently).  We took him to the vet who gave us an antibiotic.  Our hamster is still eating and looks good, but the hiccuping is not going away.  Is there anything additional we should be doing.

hello Mike,

when did you take him to the vet? It can take a little while for the antibiotics to work. Also, what type of bedding are you using? Sometimes switching to a bedding like soft sorbent or carefresh bedding. Is the hiccuping becoming less frequent at least?
