Question
I've read that you can give hamsters fruits and veggies. I have to robo dwarf hamsters and I just wanted to know a list of fruits and veggies that are safe to give to them.

Answer
Yes you can give fruits and vegetables but in small quantities - i.e. you could cut a grape in half and give them that each.  Some suggested foods to try are: a small floret of broccoli, a few raw peas, slice of apple, cabbage, spinach, watercress, parsley, sweet corn etc.   There is some debate as to whether lettuce should be given to hamsters as an excessive amount can cause diarrhoea and it has very little nutritional value and therefore I personally tend to avoid giving them this.  Rinse all vegetables before you give them in case there are any pesticides on them.  If you experiment with a small amount each day of something different you will get to see what they like.
