my hamsters paw

Question
My hamster (female dwarf) has had a few problems with her paws since I got her (about 3 months ago)and it has been getting worse lately.  Her right paw is red, puffy, and looks swolen and her left claws are sticking out in odd angles.  She acts normal and she only backs away if I try to look closely at it. She is exercising and drinking normaly and is only acting a bit odd about her food (eating it all right away when I put the food in).  What do you think is going on and how can I help her????

Answer
Hmmm... Bonnie I think she may have a broken paw or at least sprained. I would personally take your hamster to a vet to try and figure out what is going on with that paw. Oh, also your hamster stuffing food in her mouth immediently after you put food in the cage is actually normal. Many hamsters do it. :)
