my first hamster

hi. my name is Vanessa and i'm getting my first hamster. but cuz this is my first hamster i dont know what to get for her. if you could give me a list of what to get that would be great. thanks.

The pet store offers alot of pre made cages, but don't get those. Get an aquarium cage, not a habitrail cage and not a wire cage. A nice 10 gallon aquarium is the minimum size, if you want bigger you sure can. Get a wheel, either metal or one of those silent plastic ones. My hamster liked the metal wheels better, but they can get a bit loud. You need a water bottle with a loop at the top so you can attach it to the outside of the cage (I use a bent paper clip) Get a heavy food bowl, they sell plenty of these at the pet store made for hamsters so they are small. Then you need a place for the hamster to hide, there are many options. There are plastic igloos, houses, hay nests, just pick one large enough for your hamster to comfortably sleep in. Don't skip the hiding place either, its very essential since your hamster will spend 90% of it's day in there.
