dwarfs hamsters sand box

hi,

i searching at the local pet store chinchilla sand so that i can offer my hamsters this as a sandbox.

i cannot find chinchilla sand, however i found fine sand in the area of the pet stores dedicated to aquarium gravel.

can i use this sand for my dwarf hamsters sandbox.?

thank you for your question.
If it's silica sand, it will damage the hamsters fur because it's not fine enough. Chinchilla sand is more like dust and really very fine and soft. If you can't find it at your local pet stores, I would recommend ordering it online, all the big online pet stores carry it.
