Question
I own five ferrets and love them to death...they are my children. Well my youngest one Snoopy which is 1 year and half old was playing around the stove and I went to turn on the stove not knowing he was inside it.. he got his hair cinched but didn't get burned on his skin, his whiskers got cinched a little to. I trimmed the burnt hair off. I was wanting to know is he will be okay, will his hair go back. I taken measures to ensure something like this never happens again, I just love my ferrets to much for anything to happen to them.

Answer
Marcy,

I'm sorry that happened to you and your little friend! Unfortunately, accidents happen, just be happy he's not injured. He'll be fine, look at Michael Jackson! He got his hair burnt off in that Pepsi commercial years ago and it grew back just fine (too bad about the rest of him though :).

I remember when I first got a couple of ferrets, the first day one fell off the 2nd floor balconey (inside, not outside) as we were putting up plexiglass to keep them from falling off! She was fine as they are very bouncy little critters!

Anyway, don't beat yourself up, most things in life are all about intent and you had no intention of hurting your ferret.

Hope you are feeling better about it now! Go enjoy your babies.

Sincerely,
Adrienne Mortimer
