my ferret NEVER poops in the litter box

Question
We got our second ferret about 1 month ago.She was only 12 weeks when we got her.We took her home and we gave her my first ferrets house/cage.She would poop were her food and water is.And she would poop on the 2nd shelf above and to the right too.We would take out the 2nd shelf and she would poop on the food bowl and water shelf is.We took that out too and the she just flat out would poop beside the litter box.(Yes,we still put the food in a corner.)WHAT CAN I DO?

Some ferrets never really get the hang of a litter box.  You could try lining the cage with newspaper.  Once she picks a place in the cage, on the easy to clean up newspaper, then you can shrink the paper to a few key places.  Eventually placing the newspaper in a litter box?  She may not like the litter so you could try a different brand.  Remember to stay away from cat clumping litters - try papurr or yesterdays news.  Watch her and when you see that she is about to go, physically place her in the litter box.  Ferrets also do not like a litter box quite as clean as a cat, so keep that in mind too.
