Question
Hi,i bought a male ferret two months ago and he is now 4 months.he's already been trained not to nip and he's potty trained inside his cage and goes in the potty about 80 percentof the time when outside the cage. anyway moving on,i am going to get a bigger cage for my ferret within the next few months and was thinking about getting another ferret friend for him when i do. my questions are is it harder to take care of two ferrets? will they get along being that he will be about 6 months by that time. and lastly my ferret is pretty good behavior wise except now a days hes really getting destructive with two corners in my house i have a piece of cardboard up covering the area  he can not get into and he's been driving us crazy trying to get in those areas.will getting another ferret distract him from tearing things apart or will i more than likely end up with two of them destroying everything? thats one of my main concerns. that i will have double the trouble.

Answer
Ferrets usually get along well and since your is pretty young you should be fine.  You may notice some fighting at first, but that is normal.  Ferrets are pretty destructive and are diggers so it isn't unusual for them to get into lots of trouble.  Another ferret may distract him or they may learn to work together!  It depends on their personalities.  Check out enrichment information by Bob Church (lot on-line) to help you find ferret appropriate activities to keep him or them active and entertained.
