Aggressive Dog On Leash

We have an eight month old Siberian husky who off leash plays and gets along with every dog, yet when on leash with us he has recently (in the last month) becomes very aggressive with any dog who comes up to him.  We have worked hard in his training and follow the positive puppy assistance model - positive training approach.  What is happening for him? Do you have ideas for us to aid him through this fear?
