Anne those competitions you see with horses jumping hurdles on a track, Isn't there competitions like this for dogs who like to make big high jumps also? If so how do I go about finding out where these competitions are?

There are several dog sports where dogs jump.  Flyball, Dog Agility, Puissance Jumping for Dogs, Dock Diving, and Schutzhund all have jumping components.  Google any of those, and you'll be able to find something that will appeal to you, I'm sure.
