Pillow Shredder

My Sheltie, Rio is a great dog, well behaved and takes to training well. However the only thing he likes to destroy when I leave the house is my pillows. I have gotten into the habit of taking the pillows off the couch when I leave but if I forget I come home to pillow stuffing everywhere. I've had to buy new pillows, and repair them many times. He was easy to train to not chew on other things, why wont he give up the pillows?

The easiest method to keep the dog from tearing up the pillows is the one you are currently using, reamoving the pillows. Another alternative is crating the dog when you are gone so there is no access to pillows or other tempting treats inside your home.

Pillows often seem like toys since they are soft and usually fillled with poly fill materials. Also, they probably smell like you which makes this a more enjoyable behavior for the dog.
