Shih Tzu Puppys eyes

Question
I have a Black and White 6 month old female Shih Tzu.  Since her face is half black and half white, she seems to have eye staining only on the white side.  I clean both of her eyes of the dark grayish brown discharge in the corners of her eyes every other day.  I also have noticed that her eyes tear often.  Is all of this normal?  She also has fur staining on her "beard" and back paw that she scratches her face with.

Thank you for your help.

Answer
You can use a mixture of peroxide and baking soda to clean the staining.  Mix it into a paste and apply it as needed and then clean it off.  If her eyes are tearing to the point that she seems to have a problem, you may want to take her and have her eyes checked by a vet to make sure she doesn't have entropian.  It is a common problem in which an eye lash grows into the eye instead of the normal way it is suppose to.  It grows backwards basicly and sometimes requires surgery to fix.  Either way, the problem has to be treated by a vet so that it doesn't cause vision problems.
