Dog peeing on corner of our bed

Question
Our 18-month old neutered miniature schnauzer has never been perfectly house trained.  He does not sleep in a crate
at night, but in the hall just outside our bedroom door.
Recently he has begun peeing on the corner of our bed --
during the daytime when we are home.  We think he is
"marking his territory",  but he's our only inside dog.
We also have a cat, with whom he gets along beautifully.
Why is he doing this, and what can we do to stop it?

Answer
If that is the only place he is doing it, then it sounds more behavioral to me, not territorial. You need to hire a behaviorist to come see the dog, however, if he has never been totally housebroken, he needs to be in a crate at night...you might talk to the behaviorist about that also. good luck
