Dear Dawn I Have a 1 and a half year old shih tzu she has not eaten or drank for 3 days when we take her to the bathroom she pees no poops we took her to our vet they ran tests and there is nothing wrong but she is still not eating she drank a liitle not alot she bangs her behind against furniture  or walls or doors she sleeps alot the first set of x-ray showed something with her kidney My father-in-law said to the vet she might have swallowed a plastic knife we called the breeder and she said it is a hot spot do you think we should get a second vet I hope your input can help me alot

Hi,  What kind of tests did they run? Did they x-ray her intestines?  Are any of her toys missing, and/or is there anything else that she might have gotten into?  It sounds like she has a blockage.  I would get an x-ray if they haven't already done one.  Hope this helps,

Hi, a hot spot is a sore will not affect her eating or drinking.  Does she have a sore on her behind?  I would take the x-ray of the kidney to a second vet so you can get a second opinion.  If she did swallow a plastic knife, that would explain everything.  But I would first take the kidney x-ray to another vet and see what they say.
