How can i litter train my chihuahua

Hi i just got a chihuahua today (August 2nd) and i heard you can litter train them how do you is it like a cat you put it in their and sooner or later it will go my dog is 9 weeks old

Hi Alex,
I have not had much success litter training a dog.  Most of the people who have tried have not had much luck, but I work at petsmart and they still sell that doggy litter.  They don't sell too much of it though so I am assuming it is not a real successful thing.
I would go with the puppy pads, myself.  They are; easier to clean up and aren't as messy as the litter which the dogs seem to throw all over.    Ask one of the other experts on the littler training.  
If you use the the pads, put him in a room with his bed and pads all over the floor and then as he gets a spot that he favors pick up the other pads one by one.
