Question
Can you make any suggestions on what we can do with our 3 year old English Bulldog, at about 1 she developed severe skin allergies, she would rub her face into the carpet until her eyes were swollen shut, she will itch until she is bloody. She has been in a cone for the last 2 years with a little break last winter, when she had a reduction in the allergies. We feel we have tried everything our Vet. as told us to. She ended up with Cherry eye in both eyes and had to have surgery. She is miserable is there something else we can do or can you recommend a different type of food, maybe organic or some kind of medicine to help her ( we have even tried benadryl)
Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
Hi, have you tried taking wheat out of her diet?  How about grass?  Has she seen a specialist who could run allergy tests to pinpoint more what could be the cause?  Have you tried not letting her on carpetting?  She could be allergic to the material.  When it comes to severe allergies, you have to literally look at everything their body has contact with.  Also, if you have a vet school near you try taking her there as you will find more specialists there.  Hope this helps,
