Miniature Schnauzer problem with floor walking

Question
Hi there, my mini schnauzer Max is 4 years old.  Just recently he has developed a fear of walking on our hardwood floors.  This is a bit of a problem since our main living area is either hardwood or ceramic tile.  He will walk on the tile, but not the hardwood and always seeks out any little bit of carpet that he can find.  Are there any tricks to getting him to walk on the floor?  I thought it was because his nails were too long, but have taken him for nail trimmings and that doesn't seem to help.  Thanks!

Answer
Well, I was going to mention nails, but you took care of that one! You might also make sure that you keep the hair on the bottom of his feet scissored short as that can make it slippery for him also.

Something has caused him to "freak out" over the probably slippery floors, so hopefully keeping his feet neater will help prevent that occurring again. Now you need to get him used to walking on those floors again, and I would suggest that you feed him in various spots on those floors. Schnauzers usually LOVE to eat, and that should help to alleviate his fears.
