dog to person germs

Question
My husband has a habit (which I don't like) to feed our cocker spaniel at mealtime using the same fork that he is using.  First of all it is not pleasant for me to view this, but most of all I worry about the health issue and wonder if it would be possible for my husband to contract germs or a virus from our dog that possibly our dog could have an immunity to.  Your opinion please...and thanking you in advance for it!

I'm sure there are some viruses he could pick up from doing this, and its even possible (though highly unlikely) to get intestinal parasites such as roundworms from doing that as well.  I definitely don't think its such a good idea, and if your husband really wants to feed your dog at meal time, then I would suggest getting him his own fork.  Please tell your husband too that giving your dog people food runs the risk of giving him diarrhea or pancreatitis.
