Dog breeds suited to live with Cats

Question
I have two cats which I rescued three years ago after I lost my dog which I adored and I am now finally ready to get another dog for our family I am looking for a small dog that would tolerate living with two cats.
I know dogs and cats can  live together well though I need to have some idea of what breed of dog would be more tolerant of sharing a house with the cats.

Miniature schnauzers are good with cats.  I had them and cats and they got along just fine. Many people who bring in dogs and cats to the grooming shop have mini schnauzers and cats.  They also have yorkies with cats.  Most of the time if a puppy is raised with cats they are ok, but there are some breeds like, Scotties, Westies,etc that are NOT good with cats no matter what!!!! I'd stick with yorkies or schnauzers.  The schnauzers are wonderful dogs, but don't get one from a pet shop, go to a breeder.  The personality is truer from a breeder,  Also ask the breeder if her dogs get along with cats.  Then you will know the personality type of the dog and she will be able to direct you to the right puppy in the litter
