stomache noises

QUESTION: Please help me.My dog has loud stomach noises and does not eat when this occurs.She will be fine for about 4 days max and then she will have these noises and not eat.I have changed her food to Purina chicken and rice ,stopped all treats and am using Purina EN as well and feeding her smaller portions.I have given her Peptobismal and it seems to help.I really would like to know why she has this reoccurring problem.I have tried everything.Thanks,Doris Wilson

Give one more dog food a try, please and let me know.  Proplan sensitive stomach  salmon .  Introduce it slowly.  If this doesn't work,  I would go on the chicken neck diet, which is real chicken necks and real rice and see how that works.  I am wondering if there is a preservative in the food that is bothering her.

ANSWER: doris,
while you are switching over use the pepto in the food.  I have had a lot of luck with that.   By the way, have you had her stool checked for worms?  or a bacteria?  that can cause this too.

QUESTION: HSe was checke dfor worms,no worms not sure about bacteria.
She has had diarrhea today no reason for it.She was having stomach noises again has them last week too, and I gave her the pepto, that has helped before ,but this time she had a runny stool.She has not had that before with the stomach noises just discomfort,stools were fine that went away after the pepto.I made her chicken and rice and took away her food. I am feeding her PurinaOne that she has been eating for a month now and no loose stools.Let me know what you think.Doris
ANSWER: Hi,
Have her checked for giardia (I don't know if that is spelled correctly, but if you say it to the vet they will know what you are talking about.  She may have picked up a bacteria.  My dogs had it and it was hard to get rid of.

QUESTION: I called the Vet today and they said they checked her for all parasites, bacteria.She was sick with her tummy as I told you Saturday.I only have fed her boiled chicken and boiled rice plain no seasoning.She got up today Monday with stomached noises.She wanted to go out and eat grass.I let her eat a little and gave her 2 pepto,she still is just laying around and will not eat.The vet wants to see her again this afternoon.This has been going on since the middle of Feb.Good days bad days.I am so tried.I have done all I know to do to help her.I am wondering if I should have her put down.This is killing me.I love her so much.Thanks for listening Doris

Ask the vet if he can check to see if this is possibly a partial blockage or bloat.   If the vet can't find anything or sends you home again, I want you to try a tablespoon of mineral oil.  It will coat the intestines, it will not give her diarrhea,   Also, Have you had her on canned dog food?  some of it is poisoned, check the net and news on the recall items.
