Maltese Potty Training

My husband and I have a 10-month female maltese. She was kenneled @ the breeders for 8 mos. She sleeps with us but gets me up 1-2 times a night for potty. I was told she's old enough to hold it and I should force her to lay down in the bed and hold it until morning.  What's your feeling on this?

What you can do is get her a crate and put her in it for the night,you can put the crate in the bedroom so she knows you are around,and since she is an older puppy she shouldn't need to be there all the time,just at night

Dogs usualy keep there sleeping areas clean
