Dog fur scratching

Question
I have a one year old German Sheperd. Recently, or maybe 2 months ago, I noticed that she has been scratching her fur, which resulted to a large amount of fur loss. I bathe her with anti-flee shampoo( been using that shampoo for qutie some time since when she was a puppy) and tried to check if there's any flea one her body. Surprisingly, there was none other than dead skin and some red rashes on her body. May I know what is wrong with her? Could it be her diet or some allergy?

Answer
Hi Grace;
Take her to her Veterinarian so he can give you some medications for the allergies, or Mange,whichever it is.
I am sure it is one of those things.
How often do you bathe her?
If you are bathing more than once a months, you may be causing the rashes. Actually they should not be bathed more frequently than once a months at the most, and preferably a daily grooming or grooming ( a good brushing)
every 2 or 3 days, and not bathing at all, unless there is a lot of odor.
Frequent bathing can cause dry skin problems.
When mine get outside and get dirty ( or too dusty to just brush), I rinse them off with clear water, NO SHAMPOO.
If you are using a shampoo other than one recommended by her Veterinarian, you need to stop using that.
I bathed my dogs ( YARS ago) with
Heart's Mountain flea shampoo and almost killed myself.
I bathed three dogs in succession, and my hands were in that poison long enough for me to get poisoned by it.
My hands swelled, and I had to have anti-toxin shots, and couldn't make a fist for over 2 weeks because of the swelling.
That was about 16 years ago, and I still have some reaction to certain things that trigger that.
