Question
Hi...I have a Male Saint Bernard's Dog who will only be a year old in October, about 140lbs.....He is a good dog beside the chewing which I can handle but everytime someone walks in our gateway and no one is outside he jumps on them, he dosen't growl or show his teeth doesn't even bark just jumps!  He did it twice now one time too our neice which is our neighbour and he seen pretty much everyday of his life he jumped all over her she is only 11 so it scared her alot she got to the house crying and then today he jumped on my other neighbour who was coming over with her one year old son in her arms he jumped so high that his paw scratched his face and then jump on the mothers back which he has also known forever!! It is like he is excited! He will not do it when my husband or I is outside because if we just say his name he stops!!  Just wondering if nutering him will help this or if you had ANY suggestion???

Thanks
Chancey

Answer
Neutering might tone him down a bit, but what he really needs is some serious obedience training. You need to work with him every day so that he understands what he is and is not allowed to do. You need to make sure that your neighbors call you before they come over so that you can be prepared to correct this behavior.
