Eats Everything

Question
I have about a 7 month old german sheperd mix. He chews and eats anything. I've been noticing that when I leave for work, thats when I find things chewed up. He doesnt do it when I'm at home. Even though I try and hide things so he wont get them, he still does. Also, he's been scratching and taking out the carpet. I really dont know what to do. And he also only does this when I'm not at home. And the the whole is carpeted. Can you please give me some advice. Thanks!

This is pretty simple. Put him in a crate when you leave or when you cannot watch him. Freedom is something that is EARNED and is not a privilege. At seven months, he is WAY too young to be trusted loose in the house. Also get him into some on-going obedience classes.
