hi i have a old dog she is an Airedale terrier and she is 12 1/2 years old she has had a lump on the side of her neck faw quite a while now.we took her to a vet and the vet sed it could be a fatty lump. we wernt concerned about her but now it has bin a year later and we have found another lump on the top of her right leg where her elbow is. this lump is much bigger then the one in her neck and she seems to be in discomfort when we touch it and she is limping a bit. we have her on antibiotics because she has a urine infection. please could you help me because i think the lump could be cancerous  and i don't no what it is many thanks Megan . . X

Ask your vet to do a biopsy and an exam. He should be able to tell you whether or not the lump is cancerous. Hopefully, if it is, it can be easily removed and hasn't spread. Sometimes even fatty tumors can cause some pain and should be removed. Your girl is reaching an age where these things will begin to happen and it will be up to you to decide whether she can withstand treatment for them and how best to make sure her quality of life is good.
