dog is eating cat poop

Question
I have a poodle about 9 years old(not sure of the age as she was a abandoned dog) I have had her for about 8 years. she is spayed. lately she has been eating cat poop, my yard is fenced but the neighbors cats still get in and use my yard for the toilet. she finds it under leaves, pine needles etc.
and dos not stop eating it when I yell at her unless I am close enough to her. (she usually listens about everything else)
what can I do to stop this behavior. I have never spanked her for anything. I only scold her. and then ignore her for a while which has worked for everything else.
thank you
Philip

Answer
This is a big problem...not only is it gross but the dog can get worms from eating it as well. Also with every dog my family has had we seem to have had a cat and aways the dog will get into the litter pan and eat its contents(eww) unless the pan is elevated or kept in a room that is barred with a baby gate so only the cat can enter. Since it isn't a indoor litter pan thing like I described its going to be really hard to prevent the dog from eating this...you might try putting a piece of wire along the top of your fence the whole way around the cats will not come in(wire mesh or just raised wire). You could also try putting hot sauce or viniger on any cat poop you find...the dog will try to eat it but realize its very bad tasty(how could it be any worse lol) and should ignore any future clumps of it. ..but this does not always work the same tactic with "seasoning" the poop is used to help stop dogs from eating there own poop.
