Question
my dog remained stray due to a bad mastre n now is with me,after 10months of pain.
her eating sytles and behaviours are very stray.she hates taking from the plate, but the floor.
she is wild to the mask we put before injections.and wild during the process of injecting too.
right now she has severe uterine n intestinal infection.she needs high anti biotics.she left the doc half alive after the 1st shot.since then i give tablets.but due to her bestal style of eating she can easily remove the med from her food.
be it chicken or any tasty stuff, she can remove the tabs.
even giving the tab crushed in milk or any liquid food didnt help.
opening her mouth to feed is another risk.
how to make her more docile?she is 1yr 2months old alsatian cross.
can she be trained at this age?please suggest,i am fed up.

Answer
First of all, if the dog has a uterine and intestinal infection, she needs to be spayed as soon as possible, as that is the cure for a uterine infection, along with antibiotics.

You have quite a problem. Only time will tame this beast... time, patience, and gentleness. Unfortunately, you do not have time in this instance.

If hiding the pills, crushing the pills, and shoving down her throat doesn't work, that leaves only one option... and that is having the vet give her the injections. You either need to go back and forth with her, or leave her there for them to care for.

As I write this, I have thought of one more possibility. Crush her tablets, and mix it up in something else she might like to eat, like canned dog food. Don't make it anything warm as that might destroy the antibiotics. You need something that is more solid than liquid.

Good luck with her.
