bathroom problem

hi.my dog is a male 3years of age,and spaded.for the past 3 days its like he pretends to urianate.he does have normal urinating,but inbetween he will stand in the squat positions for 1-2min several times before he comes back in.a friend said urinary track infection and to give him cranberry juice.can u help me with any suggestions.  thank you ken

It's definitely possible he has developed a urinary tract infection.  If he does have one, cranberry juice may help some, but it's not going to get rid of it.  Especially since he was neutered only three days ago, I would definitely recommend taking him back to the vet as it could also be a complication from his surgery.  Either way is he likely going to need medication for it.
