Scared of Thunder

Question
I have a mutt who is TERRIFIED of thunder. She will shake and hide under anything she can find. Also yelling causes just about the same thing. I worry because during a thunder storm she won't eat, drink, or go outside. The rainy season is coming up and i want to know what i could do for her or if there is a way to calm her down. PLEASE help me, thank you so much.

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is to desensitize the dog of this noise. The only way to do that is to get her used to the noise. Get a tape of it and play it constantly when you are home so she gets used to it and sees it wont hurt her. There really is no other way to fix this. Be patient..i had the same problem myself.
