9 month old black lab hair loss

My 9 mos old lab is losing his hair. We live in Phx, AZ and the weather is getting hotter. he is an outdoor dog. Is this due to him growing and the weather getting hotter?

Dog shedding is triggered by light and lengthening days, not heat. He could also be blowing his puppy coat. If the shedding continues abnormally, you might need to have his thyroid levels checked.

It is time to teach him to be an inside dog before it gets too much warmer. Soon the days will be too hot there to leave him outside during the day.
