My dog has diarrhea

Hi Lee,

My dog Daisy is a Brussels Griffon, she had diarrhea twice today first time was at about 11am this morning and the second time just an hour ago.

I took her to the dog run today and she seemed perfectly fine however tonight just after she had diarrhea we came back home and she has been shacking and feeling restless, should I take her to the vet or is it just a bug from the dog run?

It would likely be a good idea to take her to your vet just in case something serious is going on. If the diarrhea is caused by a serious problem the sooner she can be treated the faster she can get well. If the diarrhea only lasts for a day you may want to consider waiting and taking her to the vet later if the diarrhea reoccurs. Be sure that she has plenty of fresh water to drink, you do not want her to become dehydrated. You also need to restrict food for a few hours and see if that helps. If the dog is under a few months old you need to take her to the vet immediately, the diarrhea could be caused by parvo virus and needs immediate treatment. Hope this helps.
