Question
My 8 month  Beagle male has a very hard, red lump on his outer r. leg at the wrist joint. It looks like a big callus but bright red and no fur. It doesn't seem to be liquid filled; he isn't chewing/popping it. When I touch it he doesn't seem to even care! However I wonder if anyone's seen this...I have had many many dogs and never have!Ideas?

Hi Virginia,

It is hard to tell skin tumors from skin infections, reactions to irritants like tick bites, skin cysts and other small injuries that can occur to the skin.

For that reason, any new or unusual growth needs to be examined by your veterinarian.
