Dog Not Eating

Question
I have a black lab/cocker spaniel mix and she has almost completelly stopped eating.  She is still spunky and likes to go places and I can get her to get excited.  She still perks up when I ask her if she wants chow but she won't eat.  I am currently giving her a liquidy mix of pedigree can food and goats milk so she can get her protein.  She won't eat table scraps, dog treats, or dog food.  She is my only child I have and can have and she really is my everything.  I'm not seeking professional medical advice but would like to know some more things I can research about and hopefully figure what is wrong with my girl.  She is drinking more water and gets up to drink it regularly and still going potty regularly.  Her stool looks normal and so does her urine.  I have always home medicated my dog and never had this bad of a time getting her to eat.  She is going on day #8 and everything seems to be normal but her eating habits.  I have talked to vets and they all say to give her time but now I'm getting nervous.  Any suggestions would help.

I also say give her some time, but I understand your nervousness.

I would try a higher quality food so she doesn't have to eat a huge amount to get a little bit of protein. You can also make her food, boiled chicken and rice is great for dogs who aren't eating well. I also REALLY suggest that you play with her food with her. Make her sit, laugh at her, jump around, then offer the food to her as a treat for doing something, just a small handful at once. Its amazing how some dogs will eat just because they think it is a tasty reward instead of offered in a boring bowl!

You can also use dark caro syrup smeared on her gums to increase her appetite (do it 5-10 minutes before offering food)
