Question
I have a 3 month old dog which was doing pretty good with house training until about a week ago.He has started urinating in the house very frequently, everywhere! He has definitly backslid with the training, and i can't figure out why.Can you help me with this?Thank You.

Answer
Hi Gary,

The "why" of why your dog is having a problem doesn't really matter.

What you need to do is go back to the basics of house breaking: supervising, containment with either child gates or a crate when you're not home or unable to watch your dog, and frequent trips outside.

Offer praise and/or a tasty treat for jobs well done outside. Clean up messes quickly when they occur in your home. Don't yell at your puppy or punish him for accidents that happened while to pup wasn't being supervised or contained. Clean accidents with an enzymatic cleaner, such as Nature's Miracle.

Your puppy is still young to be totally house trained, and just needs a reminder.

Best of luck,

Patti
