There are many reasons why a bitch gives birth to only one pup. She could have a small uterus, and only one egg got fertilized, she could have reabsorbed the puppies in the early pregnancy for emotional or physical reason. Since there is only one puppy, he is probably so fat from getting all the milk that it will take him longer to walk than if he had siblings. I'm sure that he will be running around by 4 weeks at the most. Enjoy this slow time while you have it.
