dogs compatible with akitas

We have a four year old male akita and would like to get another dog or two.  We prefer large dogs but want to get the most compatible.  What breeds and sex would you recommend? We plan to move to a 5 acre country home soon.  Thank you in advance.

It's not really so much the breed,as it's more to do with the personality that would have to match. Generally the best dog to with other dogs are labs or goldens,as they are generally laid back and submissive. And females would be better. Standard Poodles are also a good choice as they are also laid back with other dogs.

Those would be the three breed to look into. Another good option is to go to your local shelter and explain to them what you are looking for,as they might have dogs there that are good with other dogs-regardless of breed.
