Question about dog grooming

Hi i am interested in becoming a dog groomer. I went to hair styling school and was wondering if that would be any help to me in this field? Also what type of schooling do you need in order to do this and about how long are you in school for before you get your license?

That's great.  Grooming dogs is of course very different than doing human hair, but that fact you learned about keeping your tools clean and how to hold scissors correctly defiantly helps.  Look for a school in your area, most have websites that tell about their courses and costs.  If you can not attend a school due to distance, perhaps you can call a groomer near you and ask about learning from them just to get started.  This will help you understand the business and if it is right for you.  The length of time it takes varies depending on if you are going to be a certified groomer or master groomer.  Just getting in the field as a bathers first helps too. Also join a few grooming groups on the web, one I love is the Groomers Lounge, here you can ask questions and learn from other groomers without even leaving your home.
