sticks tongue out

hi , i have a 3yr old healthy (i hope) female Maltese that constantly sticks tongue out (up to 1/4") . she has her mouth closed and it almost seems like she clamps down a little. The only time its not out is when she is eating or playing. Its really cute but should i be concerned ?

I wouldn't worry about it. It could be that her tongue is a bit too long for her mouth, or that she just has a really cute habit. I have a cutie here that also does it on occasion... usually when she is snuggled on her back in my arms; she makes me laugh! Maybe your little girl just has a commentary about life. ::grin::
