Question
I have a 7 yr old english bulldog.  She is allergy prone and is on z/d allergy food from vet.  In the past, we have had fed her "supermarket" food when we have run out of RX food for temporary.  However this last time, she was on Goodlife for about a week when she started acting odd.  I noticed that she was a bit lethargic one day.  Then she seemed antisocial the next day.  On the third day, she started have small seizures lasting about 45 secs, but they were occuring about every 5 minutes or so.  We took her to the vet where she is spending the night.  My last check with them, she was episode free since receiving Valium.  My question is it possible the rapid onset of the seizures be due to the food she has been eating?  Just looking for some peace of mind with the hopes that nothing serious is wrong.

Answer
Hi Kelly.

I'm sorry your Bulldog is having seizures and not feeling well.  Seizures can be brought on by so many things, including food allergies.  So yes, it is possible that having her on the food could have triggered a problem for her.

I wish you the best with her and hope she is feeling better soon.
