Question
Last week I ordered NuVet tabs and Sojos food for my corgi female per your
advice. This may not ne related but I have to ask..last night she woke up with
a attack like asthma this is the first time it has happened, I had given a
couple of teaspoons of the new food w/dinner and she has had 3 days of
tabs, is she allergic to anything or why did she have this awful attack... it
seemed like she couldn't breathe and it took 6 minutes to calm her to soft
breathing again. Your advice is helpful.

Answer
__________ Update on Corgi's spasm / sneezing ___________

Thanks for getting back to me at my private e-mail:

For our "readers" - The little Corgi is having Backwards sneezes due to weeds and excess pollen near her Ocean home Environment.

WE will keep treating her with x-tra NuVET and she has just started the SoJo food /
*** LOOKS like this kid suffers mostly environmental allergies.
? seasonal

I will keep our readers updated:

Hi Patricia , Wow, I have never heard of the products giving any reaction like that at all..

I would feed the SoJo in the am and do your other food in the pm.
That way you can see if anything changes with her breathing.

Sounds like a Backwards Sneeze or cough?
It is common- if this happens again - try placing your fingers over her nasal openings.
This will force her to  take a breath through her mouth and should correct this.  ( if it was a spasm or " backwards sneeze " )

Many Corgi dogs get episodes of :

Reverse Sneezing: Sometimes called "backwards sneezing", apparently known as "epiglottal spasms". A sudden intake of air, usually accompanied by a loud wheezing, rasping or "honking" sound, often repeated several times until it subsides on its own. Some dogs do it more than others. Various approaches have been posted on-list to shorten an episode of reverse sneezing, including holding the dogs nose, blowing in it, stroking their throat to encourage them to swallow, to gentle pressure on an acupressure point between the eyes. The consensus seems to be that while sometime embarrassing, reverse sneezing is typically nothing to be concerned about.

Also, the NuVET reduces allergies and swelling so I would not think it was that causing this spasm.

So, use the SoJo food with caution for the next day or two... I sure hope all will be well.  This SoJo food is excellent and 99% of the dogs do well with it.  ( but, you never know.... so keep an eye on her )
