Question
Hi Susan, Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I have 2 dogs, they are both 3 yrs old, one is a labradoodle 18kg and the other is a maltese crosss australian silky 8.5kg. I have always fed them Eukanuba dog food but have recently started researching and read some reviews that say it is not very good and very over priced. After getting one bag of Purina Super Coat from the supermarket, which is a lot cheaper, but you have to feed them double the amount, I have also read some negative feedback about this cheaper food. Really it doesn't matter so much about the price - I want to give them the best food! I always give them chicken wings and bones and fresh meat/chicken, and sometimes that Fish for Dogs in a can from the supermarket - they seem to love that. Anyway I have now bought a bag of Royal Canin - as my little maltese tends to eat his food very quickly the man suggested (also because it is a little bit cheaper) getting the labrador retriever special breed food for both of them. They ate it and seemed to enjoy it - In your opinion is this ok for both of them? It is just so confusing, there are so many products on the market. I have thought about the raw diet too - but then someone told me that the pet food raw food industry is not regulated and sometimes may not be good quality.
Thank you, sorry for my long winded email. I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Linda.

Answer
Hi Linda,

Royal Canin is fine for both dogs.
When choosing a food check for human grade ingredients, and no chemicals and by-products.  I don't know what other goods foods there are in your country but it's best to check the bag.  There are way to many formulas and it is not necessary, it just a marketing strategy.
