Question
He doesn't get aggressive, just aloof! He did snap at someone his first week home, but he was surprised and she picked him up from behind which he doesn't like. He does bark, but not annoying yet. I wish he were more interested in attention from others. He seems quite content with his world being me! He goes to obedience training classes every week, likes other dogs, but isn't a people person, does back away, probably would snap if pushed, but I've made sure people pet him with a treat first, then a scratch under his beard. Doesn't like being petted from the top and is "skitish" around people.
Thank you!

5month old Charley, lives with me, too attached to me! He is shy and backs away from people rather than wanting to be petted and play. He's a little better, any hope for him?

Answer -
Hi,
I need a bit more information.  Does he seem to just want to be ignored, or does he growl or tuck his tail when people approach?

Answer
Hi

Sorry I missed this responce!

If he isn't 'into' people, and isn't a problem, I would tend to respect his wishes.  To make sure he stays ok with people, I would have others hand feed him and ask him for simple behaviours (like sit, shake a paw etc) The rest of the time if someone asks 'Can I pet your dog?' Smile and say he doesn't like being petted.

Most dogs don't *like* being petted on the top of the head by strangers.  Some do, most tolerate it.

I would click/treat for nice calm behaviour around people.
