Question
hi.we recently gave a 3 year old cairn terrier a home.she is female.for the first week she seemed fine with everybody but for the last week she has displayed very worrying behaviour, she seems to want to attack certain peoples feet.my partner walked into the kitchen where she was sat and she sunk her teeth into his feet and would not let go,he had to have a tetanus.she seems fine with myself and my daughter but if she sees a bare foot, usually a male foot she is hell bent on attacking.what should we do,if we cant change this we will have to rehome maybe where there are no small children.

Answer
I am so sorry to hear of your problem.  Since she is a rescue dog you have no idea what her issues were and completly why she was put in rescue.  Some people are not honest when they place a dog in rescue and telling of all their problems.  Another thing did the rescue organization know of this before they let her go to her forever home? Have you contacted the rescue organization about this??
Who knows what her previous owners did....maybe kicking her with their bare feet.  Who knows.  We may never know.  She needs to have a one on one trainer that can come to the home and help with this very specific problem.  If you just don't want to deal with it she may have to go back to the rescue in which you got her from.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
Sincerely,
Tammy
