i also have a 1 1/2 yr old female and have noticed the back hind legs look like they have been shaved. after reading one of the post i think its the food she has no flea bites and is clean do i stop wet food? she started on dry and how much do we give and how many times should she eat?

Yes, in cairns this is a relatively common problem. They are often food sensitive. It is not an issue of how much you are feeding, but rather what you are feeding them.

I am going to openly confess to being a dog food snob who spends more time reading ingredients on my dogs' food than my own.

So, I am going to make a recommendation based on the suspicion that you won;t want to read my rant about the lousy ingredients they use in dog food.

The easiest thing to do is to switch her to a fish based food.  As far as grocery store brands are concerned, Purina One makes one.  PLEASE let me know if you are willing to buy your dog food someplace else because that will open a lot more quality options for you.

And don;t forget a change in diet can take 3-4 weeks to show any results in the skin
