weight/size?

I just got a 4 month old cairn terrier. I was just wondering if shes at a good size, shes only weighing 6lbs when I took her to the vet, is this small? or is she weighing okay for her size? Do they usually grow until 12months? I have heard that they are suppose to be anywhere from 10-15 lbs fully grown. TIA, Jenn

This is a pretty good size.  Her final size will depend on her breeding. If you have seen her parents you have a good idea what to expect. However, if you got her from a pet store, please be conscious of that fact that she could end up larger than 15 lbs since she will have been poorly bred.

She will continue to grow til a little over a year and then just finish filling in.

I'm sure your vet would have said something if her weight wasn;t good.

Enjoy your baby, and make sure to take her through obedience classes. Cairns are terriers after all, and need training.
