Standard Poodle puppy size and color

Question
We have reserved a Standard Poodle puppy and are looking forward to picking her up in a few weeks.

1) I know the size of adult Standards, but what is the growth rate of puppies? How big will she be (height and weight) at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, etc.? Do you know of any information on the Internet about this?

2) Our puppy's color is described as champagne. How does this differ from cream? Does this color usually change as the dog matures? Will the adult coat be darker or lighter?

Many thanks.
Maggie

Answer
Hi Maggie,

I'll help as I can.  Champagne is a bit fuller and a shade darker than cream.  The color will probably be beige-ish with a bit of rose tint to it....very little.

As for the size of standard poodles, I've never had one, so I can't be very helpful there. I have done a google search and came up with these sites:

First the google search link:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22standard+Poodle%22++information

Then if that doesn't work, try these:

Some poodle tidbits - they're one of the few breeds that are set apart into a separate subset from other dog breeds.  Why? Because they see in color instead of black and white, and also because they have hair, unlike other breeds that have fur.

Good luck and enjoy your new member of your family.  I will warn you they are also one of the smartest dog breeds around which makes them very quick to learn (when they want to) and also a bit manipulative if you've a soft heart.  I speak from experience as I'm a mushball around mine.

Hope these links help a bit.
