QuestionI have paid a deposit on a toy poodle puppy. The puppy is currently 3 weeks old. It is black, with white under the chin and white hind paws. I have seen the mother, who is black with some lighter hairs spread throughout the coat. I have been told the father is silver, but I haven't seen him.
Will the puppy change to an all over color? If so, what is it likely to be?
AnswerHi Gaby,
Congrats on your new puppy. Your puppy will retain the white chin and the hind paws. If it's father is a silver, your puppies base color could very well change to silver or perhaps blue. These really isn't any way for me to tell you if the puppy will or won't change to silver or blue or remain black without seeing it and waiting until it is a little older. If it's going to change you will see it, it's hard to miss as the new color grows in.
Enjoy your new baby, any of these colors will be beautiful and I hope you enjoy your new fur kid.
Regards,
Brandie
