Question
Hi, we just got a 3m old female pitbull. She is very active and playful but the problem is every time she gets excited she starts biting us and we bleed since her teeth are very sharp? How could we avoid that? Also we aren't sure what to feed her as she keeps getting hungry every now and then, in the night she likes to sleep with us on the bed but she keeps chewing on the blanket? Do you have a solution regarding type of food/milk she should be fed and what could we do to get her stop chewing on things and biting us?

Answer
I just went through the exact same thing! When she starts biting, tell her "no bite" in a loud firm voice. Don't yell at her but be very firm. Then replace your hand/foot/body part with a toy she is allowed to bite. I feed my dog (who is 5 months) Purina Puppy Chow. If you have the money to spend I suggest Nutro which is more expensive but a good quality food. If you go with Purina or another grocery store brand get a bottle of "Cod Liver Oil" (its in the vitamin aisle and put a teaspoon in her food. Feed her a cup and a half in the morning and at dinner time. Also feed her 3/4 of a cup at lunch time. If you are having issues with her chewing when you are sleeping I suggest crating her at night. Hope these ideas work for you!
